  Free Medline service of the National Library of Medicine provides rapid access to almost all published trials.  Click to search on "Stroke AND Randomized Controlled Trial".
• ClinicalTrials.gov
  New National Library of Medicine information program to provide database information on all US clinical trials, as mandated by Section 113 of the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act of 1997.   System is on-line as of February, 2000, beginning with NIH-funded trials only.  Click for list of stroke trials.  (Note: some listed trials are not about stroke but are appear in the list because they are funded by the National Institute of Neurologic Disorders and Stroke.)
• CRISP Database of Federally Funded Research Projects
  Searchable index of National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants.  Search for "stroke clinical trial". 
• Clinical Research Studies at the US National Institutes of Health
  Search for "stroke".
• National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC)
  Funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), the NARIC website includes a large database of rehabilitation literature and NIDRR clinical trials, including stroke.
• National Center for Complementary & Alternative Medicine Citation Index
  From the NIH, this database contains biblio and abstract information for alternative treatment for neurological disorders as well as many other diseases and conditions.

• Cochrane Stroke Group
  The Cochrane Collaboration is an international organization that prepares systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions.  The Cochrane Stroke Group editorial board is based in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, UK.  Abstracts of Cochrane reviews are on the web site and in Medline; the full Cochrane Library is available  by subscription only.  
• New Medicines in Development Database 
  Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Annual survey of drugs in development by US pharmaceutical companies. Search for "indication: stroke".
• Meta Register of Controlled Trials 
  Current Science Group, Ltd.   Large database of controlled trials in all areas of medicine.  Presently includes mostly UK-funded trials. Free registration required. 
• British Association of Stroke Physicians
  The British Association of Stroke Physicians keeps an updated list of ongoing stroke trials in the UK.
• CardioSource
  On-line registry of cardiovascular trials, including some stroke trials.   Registration required.   CardioSource has announced plans to charge for access. 
• Stroke Information Directory
  Maintains trial notices of several ongoing trials in stroke and related disorders.

  A directory of clinical trials registries in many fields.
• Lancet Protocol Reviews
  Includes protocols for about 10 ongoing and recently completed stroke trials.
